Resonant scattering in random-polymer chains with inversely symmetric impurities

چکیده
In the frame of the tight-binding approximation, we study the electronic transport and delocalization in one-dimensional random-polymer chains, where the impurity clusters are randomly distributed in the host monatomic chain and the impurity atoms possess inverse symmetry in each cluster. As an example, the asymmetric trimer case is presented first. The resonant energy is obtained analytically, which has been demonstrated by the numerical calculation on the electronic transmission. According to the zero Lyapunov exponent at the resonant energy, we confirm that electronic delocalization, indeed, exists in the model. Moreover, the undecayed electronic wave functions are shown near the resonant energy. Thereafter, we generalize the asymmetric trimer model to a polymer one with inversely symmetric impurities. The electronic delocalization and resonant scattering have been found in this generalized polymer model. The result is beyond the common viewpoint that the internal mirror symmetry in the defects is the necessary condition for the presence of delocaliztion in such correlated systems. The polymer model presented here may provide a way to make different types of polymers with high electronic conductivity.

Resonant and Non-resonant Soliton Scattering by Impurities
The NLSE soliton scattering by impurities is considered in the framework of the one-dimensional model. The scattering intensity is characterized by the reflection coefficient. The reflection coefficient of the soliton is calculated in the Born approximation of the perturbation theory for the following cases: (i) and isolated impurity, (ii) two point impurities, and (iii) a regular or random sys...

To describe the scattering of superconducting quasiparticles from nonmagnetic (Zn) or magnetic (Ni) impurities in optimally doped high Tc cuprates, we propose an effective Anderson model Hamiltonian of a localized electron hybridizing with dx2−y2-wave BCS type superconducting quasiparticles with an attractive scalar potential at the impurity site. Due to the strong local antiferromagnetic coupl...

Resonant elastic x-ray scattering (REXS) is an exquisite element-sensitive tool for the study of subtle charge, orbital, and spin superlattice orders driven by the valence electrons, which therefore escape detection in conventional x-ray diffraction (XRD). Although the power of REXS has been demonstrated by numerous studies of complex oxides performed in the soft x-ray regime, the cross section...
متن کاملPolymer chain in annealed random media
2014 Self-avoiding polymer chains trapped in annealed random media have been investigated by Monte Carlo methods. It is found that the configurational characteristics of a polymer are not affected by the media and are independent of the concentration of the impurities. This is in agreement with an early conjecture, but in disagreement with recent analytical results. J. Phys. France 51 ( 1990) 1...
متن کاملResonant scattering on impurities in the quantum Hall effect.
We develop a new approach to carrier transport between the edge states via resonant scattering on impurities, which is applicable both for short and long range impurities. A detailed analysis of resonant scattering on a single impurity is performed. The results are used for study of the inter-edge transport by multiple resonant hopping via different impurities’ sites. It is shown that the total...
